Engineering graph paper divides every inch into ten, so a distance in tenths of an inch can be read directly from the grid. That suits decimal-inch drawings, which engineers prefer over fractions. A heavy line every ten squares marks the inch.
Traditionally this paper was printed on translucent green or buff stock for use at the drafting desk. You can reproduce the look in the generator below by changing the paper tint and the grid colour.
Good for
- Engineering calculations and sketches
- Electronics breadboard and PCB layouts
- Scale drawings in decimal inches
- Data plots with 0.1 inch resolution
Printing tips
- Try a pale green tint and a green grid for the classic look.
- Add a name line if the sheet will go into a design file.
