Four-quadrant graph paper is the coordinate plane: an x-axis and a y-axis crossing at the origin, dividing the page into four quadrants. Quadrant I has positive x and y values, II has negative x and positive y, III has both negative, and IV has positive x and negative y.
The axes here have arrowheads and numbers at every fifth line. The grid has an even number of squares in each direction, so the origin falls exactly on a grid line in the middle of the page.
Good for
- Plotting points and lines in algebra
- Transformations: reflection, rotation, translation
- Graphing systems of equations
- Distance and slope exercises
Printing tips
- For younger students use the Large squares preset.
- Add a Name and date line from the generator for worksheets.

Frequently asked questions
What are the four quadrants?
I is top right, II is top left, III is bottom left and IV is bottom right, numbered counter-clockwise from the positive x-axis.
Are the axes numbered?
Yes, every fifth line. You can turn the numbers off in the generator.
Can I get more than one graph per page?
Yes. Use the Two graphs or Four graphs layout in the generator.
